    You guys, all the love — especially from my fellow reporters across the country — has meant so much to me and snuck in just before 2018 went down as the toughest year of my career. Subscribe to your local paper wherever you are. The news is very real and so are we.

    Reporter is the hands down hero of this piece on the difficulty of being a local journalist when some in power decide it’s to their advantage to try and convince a community that journalists are enemies:

    This is when journos post stories they're most proud of, but I'm most proud I didn't give up on this industry when it fell out from under me again. That we put out a paper every day this hellish summer & now I get to experience joy at work again & be reminded why I fought thru it
