        Scott, why would the feds go for low level plea deals? I don't understand. Do they think slapping their hands will be enough to stop coup part 2? I don't.

        It's easier. The massive volume of case load has caused them to just shrug their shoulders and draw a line in the sand. Everybody on one side of that line gets the same thing -- a slap on the wrist. Context doesn't matter.

        The judge isn't at fault here. The Feds are tying judges' hands by making ridiculous plea deals, and the judges want to impose more harsh sentences.

        "blistering criticism of feds for 'tying hands' of judges with low-level plea deals" Why are the feds doing this?! It's dangerous and it lays bare the sick, cruel biases within our "justice" system. And it does so in a very high-profile set of cases. WTF is going on here?
