There aren't a ton, but there are quite a few, scenes, character gimmicks and lines that I can't gauge the appropriateness of, and that's the problem I've run into. What I have planned isn't explicit, graphic and wholly inappropriate but it isn't quite a family friendly thing.

One example being how there's a stoner in the cast; there are two episodes that I have planned where the punchline is that they're just weed hallucinations from the imagination of said stoner, and another where he gets abducted while trying to sell weed. The point of it isn't...

..."Hey kids, try this at home!"; it's just part of the character (who's based on somebody I have the displeasure of knowing IRL who routinely does that stuff). Can that be monetized, or even put on YouTube at all? That's the most prominent example but there are several others.

While we can't comment specifics, we recommend going through our Help Center article on YPP policies to have more insight: https://yt.be/help/AsbB . Hope this helps.

You sure there isn't anybody I can communicate with on specifics? There are some things that are obvious (like sex, nudity, gory violence, discrimination, etc.) (that I wouldn't even do regardless), but there are a lot of grey areas and I don't want my channel or monetization...

To clarify, age-restricted videos are not eligible for monetization and are not shown in certain sections of YouTube. As for your other question, please refer to our Community Guidelines: https://yt.be/help/bTVL . Hope this info helps.

Also, under "Additional Policies", when you say "vulgar language", I assume you mean F-bombs, the C-word, racial slurs, etc., right? If so, are words like "ass", "damn", "shit", etc. okay, because I've seen more than a couple of videos that weren't age-restricted that said those.

So I've still been thinking about this situation and I must ask... is there really not some email, live chat service, or something like that where I could discuss specifics and make sure my content and/or channel don't get taken off YouTube because my content wasn't listed in...
