    The real issue is that energy availability is dropping, meaning things are getting worse. That stage 1 ‘norm’, will graduate to stage 4 ‘norm’.

    What you aren't patently getting is there'll be loadshedding for the foreseeable future regardless of your feelings. My ask is about how it's structured in the meanwhile to enable some degree of certainty. That you say the issues won't ever be fixed isn't constructive. Take care

    And, as I've said before, part of that requires thinking outside the box… (developing a plan for now that isn't disruptive while implementing the longer-term vision seems to me the only way.)

    We are past 'fixing' now, because for 15+ years quick-fixes only temporarily improved the situation… we're now at the stage where we actually need new infrastructure (almost across the board) & added sources of energy. Windmills off the coast, solar panels in the Karoo and and…

    Infrastructure originally intended to only cater for what was then 1/10th of the population with some upgrades since is still only able to properly service a portion. As urbanisation continues at pace, without a solid strategy for NOW & LATER, the game is always to catch up.

    What if, and hear me out here, until our generation capacity & the supporting infrastructure can carry the full load (yes, yes, I did) of our energy needs, we stay on stage 1 rotational "loadshedding"? [Yes, I know it's not ideal, but it provides a greater degree of certainty…]

    "If you are experiencing power failure" when they know several substations tripped. Rather, "Several of our substations are currently down. The areas affected are A, B, C, D, E & surrounds. Our teams are working on it & have not yet advised when services will be fully restored"

    Your SMS line isn't working, half the city is plunged into darkness by simultaneous trips across substations & instead of informing residents of the issue & when to expect power back, you're directing us to contact you on platforms that are down… An epic failure, if you will.

    Thing is, you'd have to be an amazing shot (by any and all accounts) to shoot a fly and not miss… What we are concerned about is that Len would hurt people. Generally, in life.

    I'm no Weather God™ and it's possible these two things are not even connected, but I complained about the unrelenting heat, wished for some rain (yes, in Spring), and now it's cooler AND raining… 😏
