let me add another. 95% of all jobs that "require" a college degree have no reason to do so. It is just a way to control the population and to create debt.

My white privilege put me so deep in student loan debt that I'll be picking metaphorical cotton for Uncle Sam until I die....makes me smile that the global warming will kill me off in 5 years anyway. Makes me a winner.

As an employer, although my job didn’t need a college degree, I almost always hired someone who had one. I would believe that while in theory many jobs don’t need a college degree, in reality they actually do.

For most college is useless. For higher iq people with a plan, engineers and doctors, there's no way around college. It's great to be critical of education but I rarely see useful conclusions from this type of data. Rather, I see NEETs using this to excuse thier behavior.
-
Send the NEETs to a trade school by force.

I'm not opposed

The idea that you need to sent every third rate mediocrity to get a degree is a Canadian and American phenomenon...Germany and the rest of Europe, and Asia believe universities should be for academically and intellectually gifted people.

Possible translations: The economy puts too much emphasis on a college degree rather than vocational training, or ... the system is so overburdened it cannot educate those in the pipeline in a timely manner, forcing many into extended debt and unfinished courses.
