    It takes a lot 2 surprise me in 2021, but this positive & important news included in the FY22 DOD Appropriations bill does. Enables transit agencies to partner with non-profits to provide more housing near transit. Thx !

    Could we introduce and pass something similar in VA, please?

    Graphic detailing the provisions of the Safe Routes to School Act, which include improving traffic infrastructure around schools, expanding and standardizing school zones, stepping up enforcement near schools, an equitable approach to school traffic safety, and reporting requirements and data collection.
    Traffic fatalities are preventable and safe road design saves lives. Our children deserve to be safe before, during, and after school. Today 11 of my colleagues joined me in introducing the Act to require sweeping traffic safety upgrades around our schools.

    Yes, and maybe a good reminder that transportation isn't the ends but the means to climate resiliency, racial justice, thriving communities, inclusive economies, healthy people.

    Why isn't there a Transportation Foundation giving $30M a year for 10 yrs supporting activists, comms, research & more. Agenda: an unsiloed, connected, just, affordable, clean & convenient system. Here's a map of to dos.

    This is a climate issue. This is an equity issue. This is a traffic issue. This is also avoidable but no one even discusses it. I'm just angry. What about those kids whose parents cannot rearrange their work to drive their kids? What about the lack of safe streets?

    Almost every single day this year my child's morning bus has been late. So now we, a hhld where neither parent drives to work, must drive our kid to school because there is no safe way for him to walk or bike to HS. Some parents can do this.
