2 weeks ago I left the Democratic party and they’ve proved me right every day since.
I cannot belong to a party that puts corporations over people and considers @JoeBiden & @SpeakerPelosi its standard-bearers.
I support the few leftists in the party but we need a #PeoplesParty.
All of us (in the Progressive realm) have that waking moment. Mine came in the form of travel: once I stepped outside of the Red White and Blue bubble, it changed me. I evolved. Never been the same, since, and grateful every damn day because of it.

It's the same everywhere. Ppl who never travelled (and I'm not talking abt group travel that don't allow contact with local ppl) are obviously more narrow-minded. Great that you did !

My biggest fear, now, is that we are condemning ourselves to isolation from the rest of the world. Once we get things back on track, I hope to spend even more time abroad. Although abridged, the old saying goes: Travel is the death of bias ^,^

Try being born into a career military family. We knew the USA was not what it pretended to be. Of my first 18 years on this planet, 16 were lived somewhere overseas. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I was embarrassed.

Same. Traveling and talking to ppl in other countries opened my eyes to different ideals, methods, attitudes, and feelings. It helped develop my critical thinking, which removed the veil of “greatness” I had over America and allowed me to see it for what it was
