We're jealous down here in Georgia. We need 5,000 ballot signatures, but because opponents like to challenge the validity of the signatures, we'd need around ~10k signatures. The filing fee also costs 5,220 dollars.
Noooooo! That is damn near criminal! I was floored when I discovered it was only 50 in Ohio ($85 fee). Guess I was expecting something closer to what you're dealing with. Though, if one were to run independent, it requires 2,800 signatures. Two party system BS.
