Is this the least confidence-inspiring use of inverted commas ever? pic.twitter.com/Qbkk6HMAAs

      @MSalt69 Does anyone here ever casually give a heads-up to the companies (while explaining in Japanese) about Engrish? Would you do that?

      @WinningSiempre I have at times, when I think the error is potentially dangerous or discourages customers.

      @WinningSiempre Like the time the curry rice place described one of the dishes as "beef gristle curry"...

      @MSalt69 Haha! But I know that YOU know that it would not be surprising if gristle WAS on the menu in Japan. You know the adventurous items.

      @WinningSiempre It's the dish called 牛すじ (gyūsuji) which strictly speaking is "beef tendon" but they could pick a better description.

      @TopTVCameraman @MSalt69 @JAL_Official_jp I know! Why can't #JAL get it together? Such a shame of #japan !

      @judittokyo @TopTVCameraman It's not just JAL. Lots of large Japanese orgs have a half-hearted approach to presentation. Esp in English.

      @MSalt69 @TopTVCameraman And they hire terrible people to check their English text & pay a lot for bad service. I'm so sorry for #Japanese

      @judittokyo @TopTVCameraman I'd do it properly and for a very reasonable rate :)

      @andrewjgrimm You know, for this one, as long as it misses I'm going to forgive the bad grammar.

    #JAL 【引用符】を(強調目的の)鉤括弧の位置に用いるのは誤用。誰かが言っている意味で、実際はそうでない含み。 “@MSalt69: the least confidence-inspiring use…? pic.twitter.com/kGOHK6pjZe” @judittokyo

    @MSalt69 @sanverde At least they didn't put quotes around "maintenance" as well, that would have looked super-sketchy. @BuckedbytheStar
