CAPTURED State inmate Shunekndrick Huffman was back in custody w/in hours after he was discovered missing from Central Mississippi Correctional Facility on Thursday afternoon. He was captured in a dumpster near the prison. He is serving a 7-year sentence for aggravated assault.

MDOC is searching for escaped state inmate Shunekndrick Huffman, 20. He left the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Rankin County Thursday afternoon. He has been serving a 7-year sentence for aggravated assault in Leake County. Contact 662-745-6611 or the nearest LE.

"If we teach skills and trades without morality, we just make smarter criminals," said Commissioner Burl Cain at Friday's groundbreaking for a 6,400-sq-ft interfaith chapel at Central Mississippi Correctional Facility. "The more church groups we have the less gangs we have."

Pepperdine University President Jim Gash and Baylor University researcher Dr. Byron Johnson will be studying MDOC Commissioner Burl Cain's changes to Mississippi prisons for the next 2 years. Cain is known for improving prisons w/tough histories. Louisiana's Angola is an example.
