I don't think most of us professionals would consider ourselves "day traders" but we do like to make money every day. And while we do hit homers & grand slams every so often, most of our time now is spent grinding out singles & doubles.

When I was on the floor, if we had a good hour or two we'd leave the floor to " make the money become ours", then go back and start over.

Reason why when you buy instead of sell, trade oil instead of meal, corn instead of beans... you don't pause to consider your next move. You liquidate the error. If you'd wanted that position, you'd have planned it. Get out and start again, win or lose.
