Looking at waste water testing and levels exceeding Delta wave peak but lower cases to this point, is it not possible there is a substantial portion of the pop. that is asymptomatic/infection. While hosp. increase, perhaps they are a smaller portion of actual infections.

Wastewater interpretation is frought with difficulties, not the least of which that it depends highly on the viral load of the patients. Highly infectious patients tend to have high viral loads - orders of magnitude more than less infectious patients.

This is the best Omicron news I've seen. Thank you for sharing. Let us hope the next two weeks confirm the story of mild disease!

We also need to know whether vaccines are holding up to omi.

Anecdotes from within SA - “it seems milder” Analysis from outside SA - “it can’t be milder, look at the hospitalization numbers”. This report ties those two together in a seemingly plausible way. Looking forward to reputable analysis to confirm or deny.

COVID hospitalizations are rising (and the current week is still accumulating). This article is trying to imply that they're "sick with COVID, not from COVID". But: https://twitter.com/enn_nafnlaus/status/1467169709753872392 …pic.twitter.com/CtqRzjhKUd
