trying to finish a nightmare run of doom 2016 by the time eternal comes out. it's so good. i really respect the risks they took with the design.

Absolutely, games shouldn't have to apologize for being games and shamefully hide their mechanics behind the false pretense of realism, it's just noise plastered onto the original reasoning of why "making this a game" was possibly a good idea in the first place.
