it's the purest form of referential trash, pulling something out of its context in a way that completely robs it of its original meaning, even HARMS that meaning

And that the Giant -Hates- Violence himself. He freaks out so much during the movie you know? It just shows the "fans" that love this, don't understand the source material of the various properties that it's paying tribute to.

Yeah so much of rpo is not just “remember thing?” But “remember thing? Yeah don’t worry, we didn’t get the point of it either”

I bet it was just the one they could afford the rights for.

there's a gundam in the film. it was supposed to be Ultraman but the rights were tied up in a court case until recently. not sure who decided iron giant was a good choice but i'd sure like to know who to blame on that one.

It wouldn't be a movie about fandom if it didn't feature people getting things totally wrong!

Nothing in RPO actually exists, Cline sat down and said “having the Iron Giant in a war zone sounds good” and that demonstrates a complete lack of comprehension.

Gotta understand that it is not iron giant. It's an avatar that is controlled by a gamer. If you want to know how PRO would be like in practice then check out VRchat
