We asked a group of Somali YP about from their pov. They said: 1) see us as a problem to get rid of. 2) target us like we’re all criminals. 3) Our families can’t stand up for us. No one has our back. We need to show our YP we DO have their backs!

As do the parents who have been unsupported and gaslighted simply for raising the 🔔that something was terribly wrong. What kind of mentality ignores decent parents who are simply crying out for support for their children❓

We won’t see productive action on , & unless the accepted narrative changes. The way statutory bodies “understand” the issues have no bearing to the reality on the ground. YP & affected communities deserve to have their truths believed.

Kunaka is still missing. Last seen 14 Jan in Sutton High Street. He is only 15. His disappearance is completely out of character and he is vulnerable. If you are able to help please call 999 quoting ref 20MIS001896 . Thank you 🙏🏽

Children deserve to see themselves in positive characters. They consume stereotypes at young age. It’s easy to “other” children from groups.Very surprises doesn’t regulate . In fact, no UK regulators. Why is that, ?

Watching w/ my nephew. In 3 eps we’ve had a dim black boy, whose dimness is a running joke. The smart, overzealous Asian character & 2 black girls who turn out to be cheats (diff eps) isn’t always in ur face, . Positive representation matters!

Hey James 'this black woman" on has a name - say my name. 👏 Your tweet proves my point on denying racism against Meghan You're either deliberately obtuse about or willfully ignorant in enabling it🤔 Go. Educate. Yourself.

It’s all interlinked. If the safeguarding provisions are fit for protecting children against being targeted, it could address the different ways children are victimised! Often the boys are more visible, but we ALL need to do more for our girls & the abuse they’re subjected to.

Honestly, the amount of knowledge in charity sector is astonishing. The fact govt ignores us and relies on costly mis-information is just shocking.

The contempt parents are treated with is unbelievable. Decision-makers have a preferred narrative for YP & if one doesn’t fit in that narrative, they’re discounted!

Minority groups r taken for granted by political parties. They assume we’ll always vote loyally due to who we are rather than our needs. guess you’ll keep ignoring us. Not long to go until May, so we’ll see you when you remember who voted you in!
