Yes, @TeamYouTube @YTCreators wrongly took down our stream tonight for playing roughly ONE MINUTE of the debate. Since YouTube doesn't give me a real person to talk to, all I have is Twitter shrieking. Help gaining their attention is much appreciated.

Update: I just spoke with a YouTube chat agent who seemed as confused as I am that they're copyright striking me without an actual copyright claimant. They say they are reviewing and will email me. I'm cautiously optimistic. More info when I get it.

Update: in classic
@TeamYouTube fashion, they have restored my live streaming while saying absolutely nothing about it. Not who gave me a false strike, not why I was restored, not even notifying me that I HAVE been restored.

Basically I wasted an entire damn day emailing/instant messaging a bunch of different YouTube accounts to try to find some rando who could fix a problem that wasn't actually a problem all along. I did nothing wrong. Easy fix: PRESUME INNOCENCE, NOT GUILT.

Anyway, glad it's fixed, and thanks to everyone who helped me bring attention to it. The stream will be on as normal on Sunday, 9 PM ET.

The last thing I'll say in this thread is it was awesome to see people head over to
@OfficialDLive after the wrongful ban last night. DLive reps have been immediately responsive with me, unlike YT. Streams will continue there too.http://dlive.tv/mlchristiansenShow this thread

This means we received a formal, legal notice to take down your video. Copyright law requires sites like YouTube to process these takedown requests. Here's some more info about what happens and how to resolve it: https://yt.be/help/fhTF

1) the legal notice is wrong - this was fair use 2) there's no way for me to appeal this. The stream in question has no copyright claimant on it. YouTube itself says my channel is clear of copyright strikes. Who do I contact to resolve this?pic.twitter.com/Vm8NClLMXk

is the stream in question banned world wide? hidden among the many things in the user agreement a year or two ago they added a note that if a live stream is banned world wide it counts as a strike for purposes of streaming. giving a 90 day ban on streaming.

My wife and I have dealt with the same thing a couple times on an alt channel. Its a way for companies to strike with out actually issuing a strike.
