We need the crypto true believers to step up with credible plans to prevent things like this or it will take down the whole sector.

Moved to tears by watching President Zelensky address Congress. Incredibly effective how it progressed from opening with a translator speaking to before/after videos of destruction inflicted by the invasion to hearing him conclude with a call for more support in English.

In honor of Pi day (3/14), let us remember Euler's Formula: e^(i pi) = -1, linking the three most important mathematical constants in a single inclusive formula. Feynman called it "the most remarkable formula in mathemematics".

(8/8) This thing should be able to empower the editor as the key figure. People with a point of view and the ability to distinctly separate the good stuff from the bad, have a lot of value.

(7/8) What would happen to an economy when you can really promote information entrepreneurship? What is a scarce commodity on the Net? Not information. There's too much of it. People find they are overwhelmed by stuff. How to get to the good stuff? They need an editor.

(4/8) You could trade it to a checking account. I am talking about real honest money in a new form. And the mechanism for putting it there. But it will be possible to hide these transactions completely using encryption.

(3/8) What we need is the equivalent of cash. Because sometimes you see something in a store and you want it. Here's the money, don't want you to know who I am. That is possible and people are doing it. Once that gets integrated in, which I think will be, this time next year ...

(2/8) You would be able to see something that says this information will cost you 25 cents. You could have electronic coins. Literally just stacks of long strings of numbers. They would be money in a digital form. You would obtain it and spend it.

(1/8) From an unpublished 1994 interview I did with Nelson Aldrich, R.I.P., musings on cryptocurrency, anonymity, and managing information overload. Alternately, scarily accurate and wildly off base.
