Looks like there's a data issue on my old UAlbany tropical monitoring page that has taken offline some of the filtered tropical wave products (including the VPM index). I am not sure what was is causing the outage but this could be prolonged in nature.

For all folks chattering about El Nino risk and tropics... A "Westerly Wind Burst" is defined by the actual zonal wind changing to westerly, not the anomaly. You can still have anomalous westerly flow near the equator but the actual zonal wind never shift to westerly.
