    Every year, commentators go on about how few 0-2 teams make the playoffs. They get it backwards. Being 0-2 doesn't make you miss the playoffs. Teams that are not good enough to make the playoffs are overwhelmingly more likely than others to start 0-2.

    This is a terribly reckless move, coming on top of Ted Cruz holding up many confirmations, which played a huge but often overlooked role in the lack of preparedness for the withdrawal, which is precisely what Hawley is harping on here. That's called circular argument

    GOP Sen. Josh Hawley says he will place a hold on "every single civilian nominee" for the State and Defense departments unless Blinken and Austin resign. He said that his holds will apply to any civilian nominee at the deputy and secretary levels, as well as ambassadors.

    The “war on terror” cost 100s of 1000s of lives & trillions of dollars, while destabilizing the region, giving rise to new terror groups like ISIS & in the end the Taliban took control of Afghanistan. Pretending this is a win for the US is nothing short of rewriting history.

    As we remember the nearly 3,000 individuals who lost their lives 20 years ago on 9/11, we are reminded of why we went into Afghanistan in the first place: to bring justice to those who attacked us and see to it that it would never happen again. We achieved those objectives.

    Nonsense. We did not go seeking justice but vengeance, and we slaughtered 100s of 1000s of innocent people, plus many who have been killed due to destroyed infrastructure and destabilization, which certainly pushes it into the many millions and made ourselves less safe by far.

    As we remember the nearly 3,000 individuals who lost their lives 20 years ago on 9/11, we are reminded of why we went into Afghanistan in the first place: to bring justice to those who attacked us and see to it that it would never happen again. We achieved those objectives.
