    I can’t tell you how inappropriate it is to use the National Prayer Breakfast as a campaign rally like this. The kind of thing that undermines the idea of the breakfast itself.

    Iowa is clarifying so far in two ways: 1) Buttigieg managed to appeal to moderates and progressives in his party. That is a serious rationale for his candidacy going forward. 2) This remains a fragmented field where no one has taken command. 5 above 12 percent.

    A 38–year-old mayor of a smallish city beating a former VP and a couple of Senators (not to mention outlasting everyone that dropped out) is a helluva story. Whatever happens next, that’s some accomplishment for Mayor Pete.
