      i.e. Rana Plaza would be excluded from the original proposal also? Are the MNCs supporting the proposal or the counter proposal?

      So, it is very surprising but the original proposal has the public support of 33 companies, and the Swiss group of MNCs endorsed the counter proposal.

      that's the list of 'personalities'. i think there is a separate section on companies. but yes, i would expect that overtly 'ethical' companies would be supportive. p.s can you and i go get organic vegan ice cream in switzerland! sounds great!

      on their news page they say 33 companies support them. there's also this site, http://www.droitsansfrontieres.ch/fr/campagne/  i don't understand the difference between the two sites.

      I wonder if they mean something else. The organisations listed are all NGOs etc... it is perhaps not quite such a broad coalition as you thought

      well, their news page makes a distinction between companies and members. "As of mid-April 2018 we are at 97 member organizations, 33 companies and 65 personalities in the support committee".

      Right. I can't make sense of that. Everywhere else says its a civil society initiative. And the business response looks quite hostile https://www2.deloitte.com/ch/en/pages/audit/articles/responsible-business-initiative.html … I just think it may be a misreading to think there is broad cross sector support
