My piece was responding to the green paper's specific proposals: legal requirement for all aid to reduce national inequality, & Palma as metric & target. i.e. Are these good ideas? Also pointing out that conflating elites/oligarchs w ppl on $20/day is not a good idea.

The problem is, it's a terrible model of inequality reduction. Again, it's the standard conservative misrepresentation. I didn't say you deliberately misled - I think you were misled by the model, as many are. I hope you can now see what's wrong with it. 1/2

It's a bit like representing the goal of GDP growth by saying it means people should drive to work instead of walking, because that increases GDP. It's true in an accounting sense, but it's not the kind of GDP growth that the goal intends to promote. 2/2
