But even if the EU numbers were ones that attracted less scepticism they still don't address the issue of why purely domestic digital businesses pay so much less than other domestic businesses. Is it the digital model itself that creates low tax, maybe use of R&D incentives, etc?
Or are they just early-stage loss-making businesses? What is being compared with what? I have no clue.
