"As do many, I often wonder what your true agenda is" I can exclusively reveal Maya's shadowy agenda: getting things right.
I'll just take it as my annual reminder that its not worth trying to have a conversation on Professor Murphy's blog. It is striking that members of the Tax Justice movement, NGO allies, sympathetic academics etc... also tend to steer clear.
Dan, the manner in which you rip into TJN is far more aggressive and insulting than RM"s post above - which seems pretty tame to me. And Maya"s casting aspirations above at least as significant and mean (and wrong from what I've seen). Bit of perspective needed methinks
Show me a case where I've responded to an argument by questioning someone's motives and ignoring all the substance.
And why respond to a notification there is more potentially relevant evidence on a key issue by questioning the need to read it?
As I read those posts issue was whether or not Oxfam grants had been suspended. She pointed out a relevant DFID statement, supported Oxfam's work, but said issue needed addressed. This was described as lacking in objectivity, as usual, and Q of agenda. Aspiration?
@_alice_evans
Seems to me you conveniently framing the issue overly narrow Iain. On this thread Dan and Maya both insulted RM far worse than RM has on the post that began it. Yes? Or does the knight-in-shining armour stuff cut one way?
I can't identify one "insult" from @MForstater or @DanNeidle; @RichardJMurphy implies from the get-go that Maya is biased and dishonest, which you would probably consider an insult if levied at you?

I think it’s fair. I would never comment on his blog, for precisely that reason.
