Doing my tax return. Every year it makes me think I should switch from the bank that gave me a free dictionary & sports bag when I was 11. Why is there not a button that says 'download tax year as csv' ?!?
Seriously though, where should i switch to for online banking that does not make your heart sink?

Hopefully the new open banking initiative will mean you can keep your account but sign up to a platform with proper UI. Haven’t looked at them myself yet...

Oh yes - that's what I want! Going into branch feels like a trip to the 1980s, and online like visiting the 1990s.

Lloyd's allow you to download you statements as CSV in 3 month chunks.

Smile. They've been brilliant for me - a slight drop in service quality since being folded back into cooperative and no easy csv, but excellent. And with a bit of scraping, their pdf download of transactions can be converted to CSV.

With the new open banking there is Tide business banking or Monzo personal accounts which apparently export CSV files and reports, both are being developed currently . tide banking connects with xero bookkeeping software
