And a challenge. Do you find myths and misinterpretations in what Oxfam or other larger NGOs write? I have had neolibs in DK chasing me for 10 years without success

Similar experience here with critiquing Danish NGOs for misrepresenting or adapting facts to simplistic campaign templates. One common argument is 'the common Dane won't understand the complex message' and 'you aren't our target audience'.

I may have a form of the Murray Gell Mann amnesia effect in thinking that tax and illicit financial flows are particularly misunderstood!

Genuine question Maya - do you ever look at non-NGO tax avoidance/evasion numbers, or at possible *under*estimates? e.g. would be great to get your thoughts on the Capital Economics $3/4bn BVI 'tax leakage' figure?
@larskoch@carterpaddy -
Hi Mike. I actually do have a half written set of thoughts on the Capital Economics/BVI thing, which I should go back and finish (...but not before xmas..)

I have experienced the same with NGOs, being told that campaigns not meant for specialists (so OK to provide false Information?) and what matters is good intensions...
