"Evidence-based," hmmm. There's evidence and there's "evidence", + much of what matters can't be captured in data. Bring back politics.

Policies without evidence doesn't seem a good way forward. Evaluation needs data? Otherwise weak basis for any actions and even poss harm.

More data, more data, the answer to everything. Problem isn't evidence, it's "evidence." There's oceans of it. Who'll sift it? You? Me?

I don’t think “more data” is answer. it’s more good faith engagement with evidence, we hv drawing on all holders of knowledge (=>learning)

People don't engage with evidence because it doesn't suit them. That won't change. It is a power struggle not an evidence struggle.

Too many people produce narrow data, slap "evidence-based" label on it: job done. Need shoe leather to understand who's screwing whom + how

Shoe leather: getting out +talking to ppl to understand the whos, whats, whys and hows. Data often (usually?) shld be secondary to that

Talking to ppl is way to gather & test evidence and assumptions. Our paper saying ppl should talk more, not less!
