      @JolyonMaugham - would parental leave as a non transferable, non gendered employment right + childbirth leave for birth mothers be better?

      @MForstater what, I think, we need is short reserved periods for mum and dad, with the residuum properly funded and fully transferable

      @JolyonMaugham I think opposite - mums' leave 4 pregnancy/birth/recovery period + standard parent leave on a use-it-or-lose-it basis 4 all

      @JolyonMaugham Difference would be that leave is an employment right, on becoming a parent. Not dependent on gender or family choices.

          @JolyonMaugham - transferable parental leave keeps assumption that mum = main parent. Eg Dad can get transferable leave from working mum 1/
