@Frances_Coppola @sib313 not sure I agree with this. Not many mothers head straight back to work after no more than 2-3 weeks mat leave.

@redbaronski @sib313 many women choose not to bf because they are worried about weaning failure when they have to go back to work

@redbaronski £200 is no substitute for adequate mat leave and pay. So the women who will benefit from this are those in secure employment +

@MForstater @redbaronski This money could have been spent on providing support services targeted at poorer women.

@Frances_Coppola @redbaronski - it’s a small trial. If it’s well enough designed to test the approach then can see if it’s cost effective.
