@JudithFreedman@fcablog @BenCTA@martinhearson Not paying £5 by parking other legal spot, bus, walk etc not irresponsible!1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@MForstater this is a nice analogy, by the way, but i think there are other ways it could be irresponsible, eg blocking someone in.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@martinhearson :-) right, but @_DavidQuentin ‘s analogy was it is wrong to visit the attraction without paying the parking fee.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@MForstater@martinhearson not so - my point was it is wrong to characterise the £5 as voluntary1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@_DavidQuentin - the £5 isn’t voluntary if you park in the car park. But parking in the car park is voluntary!

@_DavidQuentin It may be irresponsible to park on the verge (re: safety) but that is the case whether going to the attraction or not.

@MForstater since you expressly agree with the point the analogy is making, I'm not sure there is much need for me to defend it :)1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
@_DavidQuentin I thought the analogy was to visitor attractions w parking fees as revenue model (e.g. Country Parks, National Trust beach)?
