Concerned by lack of child parking bays outside the new #StAlbans swimming pool. Unused bike racks take pride of place whilst mums struggle

@martindleach the fact the bike racks are unused is one of the reasons the car park is so full. That and the incomplete cycle paths.

@mike_1727 mums prefer their cars for a host of reasons. Think it shows lack of thought by the Council and I'll campaign till it changes

@martindleach agree, there should be bays but part of the problem is overdependence on the car. Part of the solution is better bike routes.

@mike_1727 I see mums parking in Sainsburys at the minute and having to cross Holywell Hill and then some. Cycling aint going to help them

@martindleach and it's not entirely impractical to move kids by bike http://bit.ly/17d9zND  but we need proper routes for it to take off.

@mike_1727 it is right now for most mums and elderly residents. Change is going to come but must cater for and encourage all to participate

@martindleach I'll join you in campaigning for reserved car spaces but not for more car spaces.
