My top-notch colleagues @dschweppCAF & Cleodie Rickards’ latest blog asks “What can we learn from a feminist approach to philanthropy?” following recent @Alliancemag event.
Loads of great stuff on participation, power, funding movements etc.

The panelists couldn't or wouldn't answer "what is a woman?" - the idea that gender identity is what matters and that the fact that women are a sex should be made unspeakable is being imposed through the philanthropic relationship. It turns feminism inside out.

Interesting- that certainly seem like an additional dimension of funder power to think through in this area. (Though I wasn’t at the event itself, so I’m not well-placed to take a view in this instance - especially since I know this is a v complex & sensitive debate)
