"Who are you calling cis?" I hear so many nice men & women adopting the language of "cis" as if it is an easy accomadation to inclusion. It isn't. It turns feminism inside out. It makes it impossible to speak about women & denies us freedom of association. To whose benefit?https://twitter.com/MForstater/status/1206722121096978433 …

Read the thread. "cis" means there is no word for female people (aka: women), they are cis women, transmen and some non-binary people.

What does that mean? Can I assert my atheism without invalidating someone else's lived experience of their god? No. if that means i have to see their experience as true or meaningful to me Yes. if it means i recognise it is 'valid' for them to have their religious experience

The point at which rights come into it is when one person's belief involves seeking to compel others to do (or not do something) i.e. undermining their rights

I think this conversation gets confused by conflating sex & gender identity. Someone's gender identity may be totally 'valid' (and like religious experience ineffable to anyone else) It doesn't change their sex.
