What safeguarding risks does it mention? Only one. Telling parents. Parents who think their child might have other issues driving their unhappiness, and might not actually need to be taping their genitals or binding their breasts are called "unsupportive" .

The old guide gave guidance on different scenarios for working with parents including where one or both parents are "unsupportive" (i.e. they don't accept that their child must transition) The new guide suggests considering making a safeguarding referral in these cases!

The new guide says "There is nothing in the statutory guidance that would prohibit trans children and young people from using the toilets or changing rooms that reflect their gender identity, or in which they feel most comfortable."

Something new: PE & Fitness "Schools should aim to reduce as far as possible segregating children and young people by gender" (they mean sex) ...so translated that means "Schools should reduce *as far as possible* girls PE, sports teams, competitions etc... "

*As far as possible*! No recognition that there is a benefit for girls as they go into puberty of being able compete in female only sports. These opportunities should be reduced as far as possible
