Really disappointing from @maitlis. Women can be predatory towards women, men to men, & any other non binary way you want to look at it
Trans women are women
We should work on making spaces where there are vulnerable people safer, rather than vilifying trans people

The idea that self ID will be used ad hoc by abusers is laughable. I am saddened by how the privileged find it necassary to caricature the vulnerable as a threat.

Excuse me ? You think its laughable that women are terrified of sexual violence. You think its privilege that we can not exist in public spaces without harassment from men ? 1 in 3 women are victims of sexual violence. There is a thing called the precautionary principle

Both your questions.

Do some research. Men who argue for shared spaces/self ID are, in my experience: 1. sociopaths who do not care about consequences for women; 2. perverts who plan to take advantage of shared spaces/self ID; 3. idiots who have not considered/understood consequences.

Do you think you are being humane, giving away rights which have been long fought for and enshrined in law to protect women, and don't belong to you to give away?

I think it is humane to respect how people want to live their lives.

It is humane to respect that people can wear what they like, change their name, ask to be referred to by particular pronouns. Being humane does not extend to underming the bodily privacy and safety of others.
