Really disappointing from @maitlis. Women can be predatory towards women, men to men, & any other non binary way you want to look at it
Trans women are women
We should work on making spaces where there are vulnerable people safer, rather than vilifying trans people

The idea that self ID will be used ad hoc by abusers is laughable. I am saddened by how the privileged find it necassary to caricature the vulnerable as a threat.

Yeah, women's fears are so irrational, amirite?! We clearly just need to get a grip on our emotions. I mean it's not like we ever get raped/beaten or killed by males, is it? The non-consensual removal of our hard-won flimsy protections shouldn't scare us at all.

I don't think you are right. Violence against women is a serious and growing issue in the UK.

Andrew clearly thinks the current sex based exemptions are unnecessary and were never needed hence his enthusiasm for dismantling them, despite his protestations above that he “knows” male violence against women is an issue.

The evidence shows that male violence is a growing issue and that gender based facilities are important. I've yet to see any evidence that trans women are more likely than any other woman to be a threat in public toilets.

Andrew - transwomen are a subset of males. Occams razor suggests we should assume they show male patterns of violence and offending unless there is evidence to the contrary. Have you seen that evidence?

Some evidence 60 of the 125 known transgender prisoners in England and Wales have convictions for sex offences (NB: around 20% of male prisoners have committed sex offences compared to 3% of females )https://fairplayforwomen.com/transgender-prisoners/ …

Long term follow up study of people undergoing medical transition found that criminal conviction rate did not differ between male control group and males who transitionhttps://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0016885 …
