We understand that @scotgov will publish a draft bill on reform of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) shortly after #GE2019
. We have compiled a list of 20 questions we think the consultation should address, as set out in this blog from October: https://murrayblackburnmackenzie.org/2019/10/07/20-questions-on-gra-reform-and-gender-self-declaration/ … #GRAreform

Q1. Does acquiring a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC), and therefore a different legal sex, affect a person’s legal rights under the Equality Act 2010? https://murrayblackburnmackenzie.org/2019/10/07/20-questions-on-gra-reform-and-gender-self-declaration/ …

Replying to @mbmpolicy @scotgov
Can I add one? Does the govt assert that every citizen must adopt or be assigned a 'gender' irrespective of their sex, in order to avail themselves of any public services provided to women or men specifically? In short, is gender mandatory and presumed for all, in place of sex?

"gender is assigned at birth" "no it isn't, sex is observed" "no, gender is assigned, its the law" How it can be thought of as a progressive move I do not know, but once they've done this 'gender' will be 'assigned'
