They have been told by advocacy organisations that not to do so is indirect discrimination, and they must take a case-by-case approach.

You *know* this isn't true. The exemption for single sex school admission in the Equality Act is absolute and straightforward. You could clear up their confusion with a statement *today*.

You are not child development experts, but you can probably see how extreme it is to put a child who is just as likely to turn out to be gay as transsexual, into a school where their whole education & social life depends on disassociating from their body as they approach puberty

Not to mention the discrimination against the other children who have chosen a single sex school, and who may not share the belief that "some girls have penises, get over it". They are there for their education not to provide therapeutic validation to children of the opposite sex
