Queering of consent: do you notice the "heads we win, tails you lose" quality of gender ideology's demands? On one hand: setting a lesbian up on a blind date with a male & on the other demanding removal of the "spousal veto" on changing a marriage from straight to 'same sex'https://twitter.com/jonkay/status/1200788018707288069 …

As
@rights_info puts it "under current laws, a couple cannot change their status from same sex to opposite sex [NB: or vice versa] without the consent of the spouse" (well yes.. there is a good principle for not allowing "a couple" to do something without consent of both parties)pic.twitter.com/ZwSscHUqvH

When a couple gets married without the free consent of one of the parties we call that "forced marriage". When a married couple have sex without the consent of one of the parties that's called "rape" (but only since 1991 in the UK).

"spousal veto" sounds negative but it's a recognition of consent. A straight woman shld not be forced into a same sex marriage because her husband transitions. When did she become a lesbian? And a lesbian should not be bounced into a blind date with a member of the opposite sex.

Replying to @Flynnsenior
"Just" getting a divorce is not so simple. E.g. some have religious reasons against divorce, need an annulment. Divorce without prior seperation & consent is difficult. Would trap spouse in a marriage on terms they didn't consent to. https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3717872-Trans-Widows-the-Liberal-Democrats-and-the-Spousal-Veto?pg=1&order= …

Current system: transitioner gets "interim GRC" which can be used as grounds for divorce (doesn't require it to be cast as 'unreasonable behaviour'). Once marriage is wound up, interim GRC converts to full status.
