Grown up organisations appear to forget everything they know, part 352. It is really obvious that the SDG "gender" targets are about sex, and in particular about women and girls. And yet the the @ONS had to write a few 1000 words of nonsense on gender https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/environmentalaccounts/articles/whatisthedifferencebetweensexandgender/2019-02-21 …pic.twitter.com/QUOCkW7DlB

It's just really, really obvious that when the SDGs talk about "gender" they mean the real and serious discrimination that women and girls face around the world because of their sex . Just really, really obvioushttps://twitter.com/MForstater/status/1175076280502554625?s=19 …

The @ONS could have just written "by gender they mean sex" and left it at that. Instead they have to pretend that being a women is a feeling & it is this feeling which attracts FGM, early marriage, domestic abuse, lack of equal rights & need for reproductive healthcare 🙄

No. Just No. The government has no business trying to collect statistics on people's personal internal feelings. And it has no business assuming that because someone is female you can assume stuff about her personal internal feelings and her alignment with femininity.pic.twitter.com/ycPFYLhc7Y

It's just crazy that under the guise of the SDG targets for women and girls, people are willing to accept the idea that to be a woman you have to feel the right kind of feminine, and the government gets to check your femininity. No. Fuck right off.

Acceptance of transsexuals never meant we had to throw out the ability to talk about women and girls as a sex! Yet every organisation that should be standing up for clear analysis of women's equality has rolled over.

CGD wouldn't talk about it. The women's sector is barely saying anything. Foundations have nothing to say. Development NGOs... Nothing . @Data2X @Equal2030 @Data4SDGs ? We all know what a woman is, but it has become so costly and dangerous to speak up.

Reading the @ONS recent update on SDG stats, this is what they have this say in the sex and gender article. No action points . Presumably the hard nosed statisticians know that this is nonsense, but someone decided they had to recite the catechism https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/environmentalaccounts/articles/sustainabledevelopmentgoalstakingstockprogressandpossibilities/november2019#are-we-making-progress …pic.twitter.com/73g26KXCfw

Every time a grown up organisation does this, every time they corrupt their principles & fail to step up for truth & rigour on this, they make it harder to have the serious debate that is needed. They say that it's not worth the pain. Because women don't really matter that much
