Hi @MForstater the Manifesto just represents what we could get agreement to across 30 diff women's orgs. It doesn't include everything we think and call for. @fawcettsociety @WomensBudgetGrp

Doesn’t Fawcett agree males should be allowed on all women shortlists and into the 50:50 aim of sex representation of Parliament? @5050Parliament certainly thinks the 50% of women they want should include some more of the males who couldn’t get in to the 50% that’s, um, male.

Fawcett also says it is "clearly inappropriate" for TW to be housed in the mainstream male prison estate, with no evidence or rationale for this, and despite the fact that most self identified TW in prison are housed in the male estate.

It also said we could trust that sporting bodies would come to the right decisions about whether it is fair to allow male participants to compete in women's sports (because male dominated institutions can always be trusted to take women's interests fully into consideration 🙄)

I think @5050Parliament's position is similarly troubling. It means males have two chances of entering Parliament.
