Harry & my case pose similar Qs - is stating even generally that human beings can't change sex, fundamentally offensive (on par w using the N word according to CGD) or is it legitimate speech? (as well as true, if not always polite)https://twitter.com/WeAreFairCop/status/1197121801794531330 …

Liberty is especially pernicious here. The entire bleedin' point of Liberty is supposed to be to protect UNPOPULAR ideas and speech and behaviour - the popular stuff doesn't need protection. I mean, isn't that why we're meant to give them a pass for supporting PIE as the NCCL?

Both of your cases are so outrageous I don’t know how they could be ignored. LEO cautioning people over a tweet? Firing people over a tweet that in no way impugned their company or attacked anyone? I hope most people realize this isn’t just a slippery slope it’s a landslide.

The way the speech organizations have flipped on this is terrifying. I’ve supported the ACLU my entire life and I’m well into my 5th decade. When they announced that they would now consider the social impact of their cases I knew fuckery was afoot but I never expected this.
