Sorry if my original tweet was ambiguous. I believe the Pink News view of the law to be incorrect. We do not have gender self id in this country so in my view single sex spaces are properly limited to cis women and trans women with a GRC. Which also seems to be Center Parcs view.https://twitter.com/artefactoid/status/1189665758441332736 …

The equality act also protects people who are in the process of transitioning, not just those with the gender recognition certificatepic.twitter.com/ZD8Rk9ZjrO

Ok! But your view of who should be permitted in single sex spaces may not be lawful in certain situations. Isn’t it fact sensitive given the wide range of people (at different stages of transition) who fall within protection of EA?

I agree that the way the Pink News article defines the law is wrong - the question isn’t how people define their identity, it’s whether they are transitioning

And falling within the characteristic of gender reassignment doesn't mean the person changes sex in law.

Yes, but ‘changing sex in law’ isn’t what determines whether people should have access to particular spaces

If a service is for people of a particular sex, why would it be forced to allow in people of the opposite sex, to the detriment of those for whom the service is intended?
