This fits the pattern of orgs changing "sex" for "gender" & not being sure why, or thinking thru the implications. When I talk to people inside organisation who are quietly gender critical, they they say they are making comments on internal documents, talking to colleagues
But there is an imbalance where one conversation (why sex matters) can only take place covertly whereas the other (its all about gender identity) is celebrated, funded, promoted. For orgs & networks to learn the first conversation needs to come into the open.
Very few application forms now ask for sex. It's all gender (binary too). Which always makes me wonder how they can show no sex discrimination if challenged. One did at least ask if gender was same as at birth... Even EHRC noted the current gender binary issue in its ID response.
