This fits the pattern of orgs changing "sex" for "gender" & not being sure why, or thinking thru the implications. When I talk to people inside organisation who are quietly gender critical, they they say they are making comments on internal documents, talking to colleagues
But there is an imbalance where one conversation (why sex matters) can only take place covertly whereas the other (its all about gender identity) is celebrated, funded, promoted. For orgs & networks to learn the first conversation needs to come into the open.
I was disappointed to see Financial Conduct Authority's @TheFCA regulator of UK financial services annual report on diversity & inclusion has "gender" as 1 of protected characteristics. Also talk about "identifying as female".
