It used to be a progressive staple that anyone has the right to call a halt to any sexual activity at any time for any reason. No more, apparently. Feel like I'm going mad.

The claim in the screen-shot statement is obviously wrong & Karen's statement is right. The screen-shot is of an anon account with 377 followers. I dont think tweet is evidence that any significant number of people think this & have always been some people with terrible opinions.

But this view is widespread enough for it to have its own name, the "cotton ceiling".

Didn't Planned Parenthood run a workshop on it?

Thought that was Stonewall.

I'm not aware of them running workshops. But yes it was PP https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10150615471958021&id=55894053020 …

how does that workshop which "does not and was never intended to advocate or promote overcoming any individual woman’s objections to sexual activity" (see your link) relate to this thread?

Well I don't assume that claim is made or the workshop is done in good faith, for one :)

So your evidence for what happened at the workshop is a statement by someone you don't trust to make statements in good faith. That's a circular conspiracy-theory approach. There may of course be a conspiracy - but no evidence one way or the other is required for you.

Simon. A question: OSF promotes switching 'gender ID' for sex in every legal & policy situation as the *only & best* answer to protecting trans people's human rights. On what evidence?https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/explainers/essential-legal-right-trans-people …

I cannot find anywhere where it has considered the impact on women's rights of losing the integrity of sex as a protected characteristic? There are women losing their jobs for wanting to talk about this.

Wouldn't it be great for OSF to use their convening power and legitimacy to commission some research on this and hold open the space for debate and bridge building?https://medium.com/@MForstater/feminist-open-government-2f1b101c235d …

Thank you, Maya for the points. I don’t work on this. My tweets are my own personal opinions - I strongly support bridge building & space for debate.
