The point is not that we should never use 'gender' as a synonym for sex, but we should be careful and clear that that is what we are doing. And organisations that stand for women's rights must not allow it to become impossible to say that women = adult human females

"TERFwars" may seem like a toxic storm-in-a-teacup so best to steer clear, but serious organisations are tying themselves in knots pretending they don't know what women are. This will not be good for women.
