As a lapsed vegetarian (a phrase I really use, as a returner to fish..) I would have thought the conceptual problem with EA protection is that vegetarianism (and veganism) is by definition a *practice*, rather than a belief?
cf: wearing a turban or observing the Sabbath. i.e. practice is the manifestation of a belief. can be directly discriminated for belief or indirectly, if manifesting yr belief conflicts w policies that apply to everyone but which are particularly detrimental to those w the belief

On my mind is that “vegetarianism” as a thing is defined by being a practice, rather than it being a practice that is intrinsic to manifesting a particular belief?
