With respect to Sian & Nicholas, netball skirts are a red herring. There’s no reason why boys shouldn’t wear skirts. What’s important here is the complete violation of children’s privacy and dignity. What’s the difference between a kilt and a skirt? The former is exactly the same as the latter, but endorsed by society as a “man’s” item of clothing and therefore acceptable. It’s completely irrational. Some men look fantastic in kilts, why not in skirts?
Yes let kids wear what they want from within the uniform. Don't make a big deal of conforming or not conforming to gender stereotypes. They are just clothes.
