I’m drafting a response to Jane for when her followers finish their collective temper tantrum in my replies, and I wonder if I could please get advice about whether it’s problematic? A double-check from biologists on the biology is also welcome

You need a biologist to confirm that in human beings, reproduction is the result of the interaction of sperm from the male and an egg from the female? A small number of deviant cases is irrelevant. That dogs are quadrupeds is true, even if there are some three legged dogs.

Semantics dear boy. As a lawyer you will be used to that. You are supporting a thread and position that denies material reality.

You came into this thread asking me to debate the meaning of a word. And you don’t want to engage with facts. Bye for now.

It unnecessarily singles out intersex people, as if they were not males or females with specific conditions. There are only two sexes, and even people with basic biology know this. I am sick to death of people peddling this falsehood about sex on a spectrum.

Alessandra - I understand you to be claiming unanimity amongst biologists that all humans can be placed in one of two sexual categories. If so, that’s false.

As to “sex is a spectrum”, I haven’t argued that & I haven’t seen it argued. Sexual categories can be multiple, or fuzzy, without there being a “spectrum”. You may find it less sickening if you engage with what people actually say, rather than what you imagine lies behind.

The tweet suggests that people with intersex conditions whose bodies are born with ova are not in the category "human females" and people with intersex conditions whose bodies produce sperm are not in the category "human males".
